Beyond AUTOSAR Builder Eclipse Foundation

Mid 2006, a few AUTOSAR Core and Premium Members came together, including Geensys also Premium Member of AUTOSAR, motivated by the idea of creating a common, open source framework for all AUTOSAR tools. This so-called Open Tool Framework for AUTOSAR (OTF) should provide features such as import and export of the AUTOSAR XML file exchange formats on a seamless tool interoperability platform, enabling the application of the AUTOSAR methodology on a clearly defined foundation, where dedicated plug-ins can be adapted, by any company, to create tools for the automotive market. Eclipse has been selected as the base foundation of the platform.

Geensys and other partners are leading the OTF initiative, exchanging on technology so that all AUTOSAR tools including the AUTOSAR Builder suite can benefit a single open platform providing full tool interoperability and data exchange mechanisms.
